Three, whilst once considered to be one of the smaller networks now handles an incredible 41.5 per cent of all the mobile data in the United Kingdom.
Three has removed its US roaming charges for all customers. The country is now included in the network’s Feel at Home service which lets all Three customers use their data allowance, texts and calls abroad as if they were at home.
Traditionally the USA has been a haven for high roaming charges with data costing as much as £6 per MB. Europe however has seen roaming charges plummet after EU regulations were put in place to drastically reduce the cost of using your mobile abroad.
The US is actually one of four new countries that have been added to the list including Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Macau.
Three’s Feel at Home plan may be the first time this service has been introduced for free but isn’t the first time a network has introduced something similar, Vodafone also offers a plan which costs £3 a day and unlocks your full allowance of data, calls and texts.
The network has around 7.8 million customers but impressively handles over 40 per cent of all mobile data in the country, this is in comparison to EE which has around 27 million customers but only handles 29 per cent.
